OUR OFFICE PURPOSE
We treat each and every person that enters our office as we would our family or ourselves... With kindness, care, warmth and concern. While providing the best dental treatment possible, patients will be provided with the knowledge and training necessary to maintain their oral health for a lifetime.
We autoclave (high temperature/steam) all instruments used within the mouth. Monthly we send a test sample to an independent laboratory to have them check that our autoclave is functioning properly.
Long before there was a mandate from the federal government concerning the autoclaving of dental handpieces (drill) we were routinely autoclaving all ours. Why did we go to this extra trouble (and expense)? Because they are most often the closest instrument to tissues and at times blood. Also, we came to the realization that we would want them autoclaved if we had them used on ourselves or our families. Therefore, in fitting in with our "Office Purpose" - we began to autoclave all our handpieces after EACH use. Not all offices today sterilize their handpieces and the biggest reason for this is that autoclaving shortens the life of these expensive instruments.
We wrap in cellophane as many areas and instruments as possible. This protective wrap is changed between each patient seen.
In regards to waterline contamination - we have a self-contained water system that insures safety.
Our office is located in northwest Austin approximately 2 miles north of the Arboretum in the Twelve Oaks Professional Center at Angus and Thundercreek roads. Take the Duval exit off of Hwy 183 (Research Blvd). Turn east onto Duval and proceed approximately one quarter mile to Angus. Turn right onto Angus and proceed one block to 12 Oaks Center.
